Streets of Chandni Chowk and Chawri Bazar

Without a doubt, Chandni Chowk and Chawri Bazar are the life source of this city. From delicious food to markets teeming with everything you can find under the sun, fabrics, jewelry, stationery to even some pretty cool vintage memorabilia. The streets here are resplendent with pretty nooks and corners that make for not only an amazing exploration but also some beautiful spots for photographs. If you want to know the city inside out, we would highly recommend walking around the streets of Chandni Chowk and Chawri Bazar and getting tons of pictures everywhere.

Finding your way in these busy markets to find a great spot can seem intimidating. But getting a local photographer in Delhi who has frequented the lanes a lot can make this job so much easier. We recommend the Holidaygrapher photographer Amir in Delhi, whose affinity for street and portrait photography can make the shoot a breeze

Lodhi Gardens

Let me paint you a picture of Lodhi Garden. Think Warm winter afternoons with the sun shining softly, away from the traffic and all the chaos, a relaxing picnic under the bougainvillea trees. Lodhi Garden is a large stretch of garden dotted with various historical tombs and dilapidated structures that is sure to appeal to history buffs and cultural enthusiasts. After a relaxing day out in the sun, we also suggest stopping by the Lodhi Art District, just nearby, with beautifully painted walls decorated with artworks from artists of the city.

Markets of Janpath and Dilli Haat

This one is for all the Shopaholics. Delhi is famous for its diverse population, with small cultural centers dotted in the city. Janpath houses many Tibetan and Himalayan stores, where you can shop for warm essentials, as well as unique designer bags and shawls. Just around the corner, there is also a lane filled with handicrafts, from Gujarati and Rajasthani Fabrics and jewelry to cool thrift stores. The same is the case with Dilli Haat, where you can shop for items that are unique to the different states of the country. Have a quick snack and get yourself photographed at these colorful markets for memories everlasting.

Roofs of Old Spice Market

If you have seen a good amount of Bollywood movies and consider yourself a Bollywood fanatic, this location is a must-visit for you. The roofs of the old spice market or Khari Baoli, provide a splendid view of the old city and is especially beautiful during the morning glow hours. This is hands down our favorite yet offbeat spot for gram-worthy photographs. You can also indulge in a sensory experience by visiting the spice markets and getting a taste (quite literally) of the local lifestyle.

This is one place where you would benefit from a local who can help you navigate through the busy lanes. We recommend Holidaygrapher local photographer Rajat in Delhi for a memorable and unique shoot.

Sunder Nursery

This place might come as a surprise to so many of you because often Sunder Nursery doesn’t find a place in the city guides. But, if you want a unique shoot experience, something which screams moody, mystical yet surreal, Sunder Nursery is the place to go. It’s a small area with forest cover that is usually pleasant in the evening and a much-needed respite from the metropolitan hustle-bustle.

Humayun’s Tomb

Now we are getting to the heritage sites that you must visit when you get a chance. Humayun’s tomb finds a place in this list, of course, we see multiple photographs of this spot on our feeds. But that doesn’t discount the beauty of this place. Walking past the red sandstone walls transports you instantly to another era. You can get some beautiful photographs here. Make sure to get a photographer along to get photographs that stand out in the sea of basic photos. We recommend a Local Holidaygrapher photographer Kunal who loves to experiment and click unique frames.

India Gate

India gate is synonymous with all that Delhi is a place that commemorates our nation’s history and freezes it in time. This is a popular spot amongst local people for picnics and some delicious street food. But India Gate in the evenings has an altogether different charm. Make sure to give a visit the next time you’re in Delhi for a cool breezy evening with cotton candy.

Jama Masjid

Jama Masjid is a local photographer’s favorite spot, and we can’t find any reason to not back that. Built by the Mughal emperor, this place is the largest mosque in India. If you want to disconnect and realign yourself in a calm place, Jama Masjid is perfect. With the Azaan in the backdrop with birds making their way across the horizon, Jama Masjid is a beauty to behold. Make sure to get some photographs when you’re there, but a word of advice, try to not hurt anyone’s sentiments as it’s a religious place. It’s best to take a local photographer to show you around hassle-free, preferably someone with experience on the streets. Check out Holidaygrapher’s photographer Aman in Delhi, we recommend him for a shoot in Old Delhi.

So. there you go, a list of some of the most awe-inspiring places in the city. This comprehensive list serves as a perfect guide to exploring the city while building a beautiful Instagram feed.
