Have you ever considered booking a photoshoot in your hometown

Have you ever considered booking a photoshoot in your hometown?

Why do you travel?

What part of it makes you want to move out of your comfort zone, among people you hardly know, and in an environment that is different.

A lot of people we have talked to, say they like traveling because it brings a change in their routine. It’s New. A new bed to wake up in, new people to talk to, new streets to walk in, new photos to smile too. This fresh experience brings a change from your daily routine, and it is what fuels most of us in the traveling community. However, in a year when we have been confined to the borders of our cities, the idea of traveling has altered.

To make up for this lack of travel, one of our clients shared one of their experiences with us. He had lived in his hometown for about 15 years, and was fairly confident of having a good enough idea of the place he was living in. During the monsoon months of the pandemic, he was dragged by his friends to a place an hour’s drive from where he lived. He had never heard of this place before. It turned out to be a dam in the middle of a small village. The sound of the overflowing monsoon water crashing against the rocks, the colourful birds overhead and even the wet mud beneath his shoes, made for a pleasant experience.

He went back again after a week and got an early morning photo shoot done there.

Looking at those photos, reminded us of the opportunities that being at home, give us. And that is why we began promoting the idea of travelling in your hometown. A lot of people we have talked to say they haven’t fully explored the place they live in! Sure we have been to that cafe in the neighbourhood or that famous bar on the other end of the city, but have you explored the places that are unheard-of. The hidden gems. After all, travelling is all about living that ‘new’ experience. Here are a few reasons why we strongly believe you should explore your hometown and get a professional photo shoot while doing so

1. To create memories in your hometown -

No matter if you live in a small-town or a metropolis, having a professional photo shoot in your native land has a plethora of home turf advantages. Imagine yourself as a tourist and set out to explore your home. Do not limit yourself to only the famous places, but find those hidden gems as well. We recommend talking to older citizens who have been there for decades. Their point of view of how your city came to be would surely provide a unique perspective.

2.Support the local economy

A lot of people have struggled to adapt during the pandemic. There are a lot of organizations, including the government, who're helping those who have struggled financially because of the pandemic. Because of limited resources, it is going to be impossible for them to reach out to everyone. It’s our time to step up as well. Come together for your community. And shopping locally is the best way to do so. When you shop local, not only the local economy gets help, but you get good products and services as well. Because these shop owners have limited customers, they’ll surely do their best to provide you the best experience!

As the quote rightly says, “When you buy from a small business, you are not helping a CEO buy a 3rd vacation home. You are helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy get his team jersey, a mom put food on the table, a dad pay for a mortgage or a student pay for college”

We are at our best when we serve others.

Holidaygrapher also strongly believes in giving back to our community. When you book with us, you help us provide our photographers a stable income.

We hire local photographers only, thus boosting the local economy. And our clients love us for it! Hiring a local photographer is not only beneficial to them, but it saves you a lot of money as well. And you get a much better experience because you know the locality and the best spots to shoot

3. Capture your story

Your Hometown has been a constant in your life. Your first breath in this world, your first day in school, that embarrassing story, the best day in your life, it is all connected to this place. With a shoot in your hometown, show the world who you are. Emotions also play an important role in your story. And at Holidaygrapher we aim to get these emotions in the frame.

4. You can be candid in your safe space, i.e Hometown

A photo looks best when you’re relaxed. When you are in your home town, you’re in a place that is familiar. It’s your safe zone. It is easy to be candid when you feel relaxed. Part of the Holidaygrapher experience is also to make sure you’re comfortable during the process. And our photographers are trained to make sure you feel comfortable.
