Your Checklist for a Photo Tour in Bali

Your Checklist For A Photo Tour In Bali

In 2021, you cannot come back from a virtual paradise without good pictures, the same goes for Bali. Tourists are increasingly exploring and recreating Bali through the lenses of their cameras, coming back with their memories of the beaches, art, culture, architecture, and expansive rice terraces. For the same love that Holidaygrapher shares with tourists for Bali, we decided to create a mini-checklist for those interested in capturing the best spots in this beachy paradise. Read on.

1. Diamond Beach, Nusa Penida, Bali

Diamond Beach, Nusa Penida, Bali

Accessing this beach as a tourist was made possible only recently. Diamond Beach offers a view that is considered heavenly by many, which makes it a must-visit location for your photo tour in Bali. It is an hour’s distance from the famous Atuh beach. Earlier, tourists were restricted from taking photographs using various viewpoints that the cliff next to the beach offered. Now, one can climb down a carved staircase ( quite incredulously! ) to enjoy the serene blue waters. Though swimming is not a highly recommended activity in this area, your walk and photography session on the beach would be nothing less than a photography session in paradise.

2. Kelingking Beach ( a.k.a. Secret Point )

This is one of the most visited destinations on the island of Nusa Penida. The T-Rex-shaped offshoot reaching out into the water is what makes it so popular. Apart from that, a (careful) walk on the edges of the cliff next to the beach will add value to your photo-tour experience.

3. Besakih Temple ( Mother Temple )

The Besakih Temple, otherwise known as the “Mother Temple”, carries a transcendent quality to it. The 86 temples present in the complex make it an amazing spot for perspective photography. For getting the most out of your tour here and for capturing photographs that capture the essence of the temple, make sure you make an early morning visit.

Temples in Bali are just beautiful and capturing your special vacations by a professional photographer is a no miss.

4. Mount Batur

A hike up Mount Batur would be the high point of your photo tour, both literally and figuratively. Despite being a three-hour trek, every step along the way would be worth it. An early morning trek would allow you to catch ( and capture ) the sunrise. We do not suggest carrying heavy tripods for this hike, even if you do, make sure all the camera-related equipment you’re carrying it in a water-proof bag.

5. Ubud Monkey Forest

The Ubud Monkey Forest is an enchanting wild abode in Bali. You can spot Grey Macaques during your visit there, which will be an interesting subject matter for those interested in wildlife photography. Moreover, the Ubud Monkey Forest is replete with temples flanked by statues that add an element of mystique to the whole area.

Tegalalang Rice Terrace, Bali

The Balinese rice terraces have never failed to grab the attention of tourists. The terraces can make you feel closer to the life of Bali and make subjects for grabbing landscape photography. The Tegalalang rice terrace can be enjoyed from its top but a hike down the terrace will add more value to your trip and the photographs.

Sekumpul Waterfall is one of the best places to relax in Bali

 7. Sekumpul Waterfall

This is another location in Bali that is difficult to reach but worth the effort. The mystical waterfall is almost eighty meters in height and plush greenery surrounds the area. The steps down to the floor of the waterfall can be quite slippery and the air gets moister and moister too. Make sure you carry ample time with you when you visit the Sekumpul Waterfall, meaning at least one or two hours for exploring the area through your lens.

Tirta Empul Temple and other Balinese Temples are a must visit location with a photographer cum tour guide in Bali

8. Tirta Empul Temple

This temple will give you a unique opportunity to capture the cultural side of Bali. You can enjoy the traditional ‘purifying bath’ that many visitors to the temple take or simply spend time capturing the architecture of the temple and its serene reflections of it in the water.
